Summer's End

A sip of sangria
Close your eyes
Listen to your heartbeat
Thump thump thump

The sun heats your legs
Shield your face
Watch the minute hand
Tick tick tick

Your tongue feels thick
Guard your words
Feel the painful truth
Tap tap tap

The air stands still
Measure time
Kiss away the loss
Tsk tsk tsk
